AEPROMO - The Spanish Association of Medical Professionals in Ozone Therapy also holds World Ozone Congresses every two years. The recent Ozone Congress held June 2012 in Madrid Spain attracted Ozone Therapy Doctors from 25 countries around the world!

Countries such as Brazil, Germany, Russia, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Austria, and even the USA all have their own Ozone Thearpy Associations which hold yearly conventions (Congresses) where physicians from around the world attend to present their new findings, new procedures, and results of new studies.

In 2009 there was a very public announcement in Toronto Canada, an announcement that shook the world when everyday "allopathic" medical doctors openly announced that Ozone not only can ozone be used to successfully treat herniated discs, but the studies indicate that Ozone Therapy works far better than traditional surgery.

The Society was founded as "Medical Ozone Society" in 1972 with the aim to coordinate basic aspects, activate research, and lead ozone therapy to become generally accepted. Since 1993 it has been renamed the Medical Society for Ozone application in Prevention and Therapy.

The initiative of the Declaration was launched with the exclusive interest of keeping adapting the medical activities and ozone therapy protocols in accordance with the scientific research; and going adapting criteria. The "Madrid Declaration" represents the first significant international progress undertaking towards the setting of good practice.

The Declaration was approved at the International Meeting of Schools of Ozonetherapy organized by AEPROMO, (Spanish Association of Medical Professionals in Ozone Therapy , an IMEOF member), at the Royal National Academy of Medicine in Madrid (June 3 and 4, 2010).

AEPROMO took the initiative to write it and the draft was submitted to all the participating speakers in and teacher of the International Meeting and Presidents of the various participating scientific associations. It was a long process that took four months. The exchange of proposals, additions, amendments and suggestions were very rich, compelling AEPROMO to write a total of 17 drafts.

Its result was a dense document of seventeen pages long including an important appendix on “Therapeutic ranges for the use of ozone”, which is the summary of the scientific research conducted in various countries and is the result of many years of experimental and clinical practice.

The “Declaration of Madrid on Ozone therapy” was approved with the signature of all the 22 speakers and teachers who took part in the International Meeting of Schools of Ozonetherapy organized by AEPROMO (Spanish Association of Medical Professionals in Ozone Therapy, an IMEOF member), at the Royal National Academy of Medicine in Madrid (June 3 and 4, 2010).

IMEOF (International Medical Ozone Federation) and all its 14 members have signed the “Declaration of Madrid on Ozonetherapy”.

International Ozone Association

The IOA was formed in 1973 to serve as the focal point for technology transfer and developments on ozone-related issues. For this purpose, IOA has served as the central , worldwide gathering and disseminating point on ozone information, bringing together scientists, engineers, systems designers, technologists, equipment manufacturers, and end users to share their experiences and research data on ozone and other related oxygen compounds.

The IOA is a not-for-profit educational association which performs its information-sharing functions through sponsorship of international symposia, seminars, publications, and the development of personal relationships among ozone specialists throughout the world.

The only association that gathers over 1000 scientific and technical members around fundamental, engineering and applied aspects of oxidation technologies involving ozone or any related oxidants for any purpose.
